Did you know: Anti-abortion lawmakers in Nebraska have already sent people to jail for simply getting an abortion or helping a loved one do so? They are showing us what their real agenda is: punishing abortion seekers and people who help them, in a cruel effort to control us and rob us of the freedom to make decisions about our bodies, lives, and futures.
Nobody should live in fear of making the health care decision that's right for them. Making abortion a crime makes us all less safe.
We believe that people – not the government - should decide what's best for our bodies, our health, and our families. We believe that working class Nebraskans seeking abortion care deserve support and compassion.
Instead, what we see are anti-abortion leaders in our state passing laws or abusing existing laws to undermine our privacy and threaten us with jail time not just for getting an abortion, but for helping a friend get one, helping someone access abortion pills, or even sharing information about how to get an abortion!
These attacks harm all pregnant people, but in particular LBGTQ+ people, Black and brown people, immigrants, those living paycheck to paycheck, and other marginalized groups, who have always been disproportionately surveilled and targeted by law enforcement.
We've had enough of this surveillance and the government invading our private lives – we're fighting back!
We are fighting for a Nebraska where everyone who needs an abortion can get it, without stigma or fear! People seeking care should be met with love and compassion, not judgment and punishment!
